Marcie Seery has been a Mentor Coordinator with One on One Mentoring since January 2010. She earned her B.A. in English Literature/Psychology from the University of Arizona in 1991. Her professional experience includes positions held as a Crisis Counselor and Transitional Housing Coordinator for a domestic violence shelter, a Juvenile Probation Officer with Pima County, and a Support Specialist for Project Success in the Irvine Unified School District. Past and current volunteerism includes the Primavera men’s shelter, Tucson Refugee Ministry, parent volunteer in the Flowing Wells School District and a volunteer at church. She currently resides in Tucson with her husband, Bill, and two daughters.
Matthew DeWeerdt has been an assistant Mentor Coordinator with One on One Mentoring since May 2016. He is earning a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Law at the University of Arizona. Prior to joining One on One, Matthew supported students with Intellectual Disabilities at the University of Arizona through Project Focus. Matthew’s current volunteerism is heavily anchored in leading Young Life at Ironwood Ridge high school, and he regularly leads the music ministry at Redemption Church Tucson.
